Academic Interests

Dr. Tang's research interests are in developing patient-centered approaches to improving population health. Her research focuses on understanding how primary care providers and healthcare systems can: 1) prevent the development of chronic diseases, with a focus on the identification and counseling of patients who are at increased risk (i.e., patients who are overweight, who have gestational diabetes, or prediabetes); and 2) prevent the development of complications among medically complex patients. Her research integrates both quantitative and qualitative methods to understand the perspectives of patients, providers, and other stakeholders.
 

Clinical Interests

Care for frequently hospitalized patients, diabetes, shared decision making, wellness and well-being
