Academic Interests

Dr. Khambhati's research interests include transcatheter aortic valve durability, aortic valve stenosis progression, hypoattenuating leaflet thickening (HALT) after TAVR, and intravascular imaging and calcium modification in acute coronary syndromes. In addition, he has worked on machine learning models to improve the implementation of care for patients with AS and to detect the presence and severity of regurgitant lesions by echocardiography. He has worked as a co-investigator on large multicenter clinical trials investigating novel therapies in interventional cardiology.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve edge to edge repair, transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement, transcatheter tricuspid valve edge to edge repair, patent foramen ovale closure, atrial septal defect closure, paravalvular leak closure, left atrial appendage closure, balloon valvuloplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention, critical care cardiology, alcohol septal ablation
