Academic Interests

Dr. Saunders’ broad research interests include health disparities and quality of care, particularly related to chronic kidney disease. Her work has examined how location (residence and site of care) is associated with health outcomes. She has focused her research on quality of care for patients with CKD and ESRD. She is currently exploring how patient education and shared decision-making can improve outcomes for patients with advanced chronic kidney disease.
