Academic Interests

Dr. Vokes is an internationally renowned expert in the treatment of head and neck and lung cancer. He is an accomplished clinical and translational investigator who has brought together clinical and scientific multimodality teams to address complex solid tumors leading to improved treatment outcomes. He is known for his work in the biology and treatment of lung and head and neck cancer and the interaction of chemotherapy and radiation. His work on concomitant chemoradiation has contributed to increased cure rates and spared many patients from radical surgery. He also established the intellectual and clinical basis of national trials investigating concomitant chemoradiotherapy and other approaches to curative intent multispecialty care.
