Academic Interests

Dr. Weinstock aims to understand how weight loss influences immunity to heal obesity-related inflammation. Since weight loss is so challenging, she aims to leverage these findings to treat obesity-related diseases without the need for weight loss.
Another interest of her group is to understand why weight regain heightens inflammation. This will allow to find treatments to retain the benefits of weight loss, even if individuals regain weight.
Her overarching goal is to heal metabolic inflammation independently of weight loss and prevent the harmful effects of weight regain.
