Academic Interests

Dr. Ettleson’s research interests include epidemiology and health services research in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disease. Specifically, his research is aimed at evaluating and improving the quality of care delivered to patients with hypothyroidism. He has investigated patterns in hypothyroidism treatment, medical decision making, and clinical outcomes. The ultimate goal of his research program is to optimize hypothyroidism treatment to improve the patient experience and reducing adverse outcomes.
