Academic Interests

Dr. Pinney is a leader in heart failure and cardiac transplantation. Dr. Pinney also specializes in valvular and structural heart disease. He has a keen understanding of congestive heart failure (CHF) and the condition(s) associated with CHF. Dr. Pinney is actively researching new medications and miniature devices to improve care for heart failure patients. Dr. Pinney has published more than 140 original, peer-reviewed articles in highly respected, scientific journals, including the American Journal of Transplantation, Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Journal of Cardiac Failure, Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation and more. Dr. Pinney is not only dedicated to his patients, but he is also invested in the next generation of cardiologists. Dr. Pinney mentors medical students, residents and fellows, acting as an invaluable resource as they move through their medical careers.
