Academic Interests

Dr.Kalathiya is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in the treatment of coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, and valvular heart disease. Dr. Kalathiya performs a wide range of procedures, including coronary angiogram, balloon angioplasty and stenting, atherectomy, thrombectomy, intravascular imaging, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and percutaneous mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Kalathiya is trained in performing transradial catheterization which has been shown to decrease bleeding and increase patient comfort. His research focuses on management of cardiogenic shock and is currently enrolling patients in a clinical trial to understand the role of hypothermia in these critically ill patients.
