Academic Interests

Dr. Martinez's academic interests include studying disparities by race and social vulnerability in post-hospital syndrome, hospital-associated disability, and acute and post-acute physical rehabilitation utilization. She also uses implementation science to evaluate inpatient mobility programs. Her research goals are to develop unbiased clinical decision support to help guide PT referral decisions and implement them in culturally appropriate ways to help close health equity gaps.
