Academic Interests

Dr, Barreiro's research aims to better understand how natural selection has contributed to the evolution of our species and to which extent past selection events impact present-day susceptibility to disease. His laboratory studies the genetic basis of differences in immune response among different individuals and human populations as well as the phenotypic evolution of immune responses in primates.
