Academic Interests

Dr. Micic has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and management of gastrointestinal conditions resulting in nutritional disorders such as short bowel syndrome and intestinal malabsorption. Within IBD he has an interest in utilization and optimization of novel therapies and management of infectious complications such as Clostridium difficile colitis. His interests in nutrition include the management of parenteral nutrition, identification of malnutrition and nutrition education. In addition to standard endoscopic procedures, he performs endoscopic procedures in the small bowel to include balloon-assisted enteroscopy utilized in the management of small bowel lesions or bleeding sources. Dr. Micic’s research interests include predictive modeling of healthcare outcomes with respect to responses to therapy and hospitalizations, as well as translational research studies in IBD.
