Academic Interests

Dr. Stern's focus is on evidence based medicine and medical education. He has directed the third year clerkship in Internal Medicine for many years and is Clinical Director of the course, Clinicopathophysiology. Dr. Stern and colleagues authored the textbokk Symptom to Diagnosis (McGraw-Hill) the second edition of which was released in 2010. Dr. Stern's current focus includes the development of a computer based simulation to teach internal medicine diagnosis and the dissemination of electronic teaching tools to international medical schools.
