Faculty Profile

Michael Broman
Section of Cardiology
Assistant Professor of Medicine
Referring Physician Access Line: 1-877-DOM-2730

Academic Interests

Dr. Broman’s academic research focus is on the role of developmental transcriptional regulators and other genetic factors in the pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation, a common abnormal heart rhythm affecting a large proportion of the general population. His laboratory utilizes animal models and human tissue studies to address questions regarding the roles of, primarily, the GATA4/FOG-2 axis in atrial fibrillation and cardiac failure.
